Lakeshore Collegiate Institute

About Lakeshore CI (LCI)

Lakeshore Collegiate Institute (LCI) provides opportunities for you to enrich personal and academic achievement by providing a demanding curriculum that incorporates academics with the arts, technology, co-op and athletics. LCI is a dynamic school with a wide offering of programs for every student.

Unique to LCI, in addition to our broad academic curriculum, students can specialise their studies in a number of different ways:

  • Advanced Placement
The advance placement program allows students to enrich their education by integrating select University-level curriculum and assessment into their courses. In addition to preparing them for pace and complexity of post-secondary education, it also grants them some* advanced standing at over 90% of the Universities in North American (*subject to their individual policies).
  • Cyberarts
This program integrates traditional visual arts and technology. Courses such as Media Literacy, Communication Tech, and Computer Science are used to broaden the art student's skill set to address modern applications of art media.
  • French Immersion (Starting in Sep 2024)
Beginning Fall 2024, students currently enrolled in French Immersion programs in Southern Etobicoke will have the convenience and proximity of attending Lakeshore C.I.  Staff and Administration are excited to welcome our French Immersion families to Lakeshore Collegiate and supporting their children’s ongoing learning to become fluent in Canada’s two official languages. Our French Immersion program will begin with Grade 9 in September 2024.  An additional grade will be added each successive year until its full implementation in September 2027.
  • Math, Science and Technology (MST) (Starting in Sep 2024)
This program is for Math, Science, and Technology enthusiasts who want to design innovative solutions in their communities centred around Urban Design and Engineering. This multi-disciplinary program challenges students to build solutions to the modern challenges of urban communities.
  • Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM)
This program allows students to enhance their education and get industry training/certification in one of five different work sectors:
    • Construction Tech
    • Hospitality and Tourism:
      • Cosmetology and Aesthetics
      • Culinary Arts
    • Business Leadership
    • Information & Communication Tech
    • Transportation and Auto Mechanics

All students are invited to participate in our extra-curricular activities. The bantam, junior and senior level teams compete in a variety of sports such as football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, hockey, baseball, cross-country, track and field. There is a wide array of clubs, including environmental, poetry, student leadership and student council to name but a few, providing something for everyone. LCI has an excellent intramural program that recently earned provincial recognition.  The access to the Sports Dome provides student with year-round access to field sports including soccer, football, lacrosse, and the like.
