About CyberARTS

CyberARTS is a multidisciplinary, integrated, four year arts program that started at Lakeshore Collegiate Institute at the grade 9 level in September 2006. In the third year of implementation, LCI will be offering CyberARTS Year One, Year Two and Year Three as of Sept 2008.

CyberARTS at LCI is a progressive program created for students with an interest in pursuing employment in the field of multimedia. The student-centered curriculum focuses on project-based learning that integrates arts and technology with a focus on aesthetics. This unique program encourages students to be more than technicians, but visionaries.

Students will enjoy working in our new state of the art Cyber Studio, which includes a Mac Lab, Visual Art Studio and Presentation Studio. The integrated curriculum develops artistic and academic skills while encouraging self-esteem, independent work habits, leadership skills and critical/creative thinking.

The Elements and Principles of Design, Art History and Theory are applied in cooperative and independent projects that involve: Foundation Arts, Advanced Computer Skills, Desktop Publishing, Web Design, Multimedia, Film, Video, Motion Graphics, Digital Photography and Animation.

Beyond the other regular grade subjects that are a part of each student's timetable, students are encouraged to enrich their high school experience by becoming school ambassadors and participating in LCI's many extra curricular clubs and activities.
